In China, the Xiaomi 13 series was introduced earlier this month. However, the company typically also releases a high-end Ultra model of its series, therefore the flagship series is not yet over. Currently, a fresh leak has revealed some interesting information about the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra model.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s periscope camera “will shock everyone.” according to a tweet from tipper Kartikey Singh (@That Kartikey, via NotebookCheck.net). This is actually wonderful news for Xiaomi.
“Since last 2 years no-one was able to challenge Samsung in long magnification Zoom which made Samsung lazy and they are using same hardware for 3 generations now but next year things will Start turning around and this monopoly will come to (an) end.” Singh wrote in a subsequent tweet.
In other words, the new optical zoom module may provide better, sharper images while also providing more magnification. Samsung still dominates the market with its telephoto cameras, but it may soon have a strong rival. Unfortunately, this is all we are aware of about the periscope camera on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
It is still unclear what Xiaomi has planned for the upcoming Ultra model because Singh hasn’t given any details in this regard. Meanwhile, Digital Chat Station a popular tipster on Weibo revealed the storage info for “M1,” the rumored codename for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to surpass the Xiaomi 13 Pro by providing up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is also rumored to include up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 flash storage, which is twice as much as the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Currently, it’s anticipated that Xiaomi will introduce the Xiaomi 13 Ultra early in 2019, potentially jointly with the global launch of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro.
