According to a recently published report, Apple is currently dominating an overwhelming majority of the revenue share in the global smartphone market this year. The company has established a significant advantage over its rivals; therefore, the following information is provided in full.
According to a report by Counterpoint Research, the giant headquartered in Cupertino has maintained its position at the top of the global smartphone market and has even managed to increase its revenue share anyway, despite the fact that sales of smartphones as a whole have decreased by three percent from the previous year. During this time period, there was also a decrease in shipments that was equal to 12 percent, but there was a rise in the average selling price that was equal to 10 percent (ASP).
This represents a new high for 5G phones in terms of their share of total sales; they accounted for up to 46 percent of shipments in the most recent quarter. Apple maintained a significant lead in the global smartphone market during the third quarter of this year, achieving a revenue share of 42 percent across all smartphones. Notably, this was an increase from the previous year’s similar time, when it stood at just 37.1 percent. Sales of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max released by the brand were particularly robust over the three months spanning July to September 2022.
It wasn’t until the first week of October 2022 that Apple started shipping out the iPhone 14 Plus. While Apple maintained its position as the market leader, Samsung of South Korea moved up to the number two spot with an 18.3 percent revenue share. Third place was held by Xiaomi with an 8.3 percent market share, followed by Oppo with 6% and Vivo with 5% respectively. Therefore, it is evident that the iPhone 14 series is doing quite well in the market.
