Mobile games rank second, in terms of time spent on apps after social media. An average mobile gamer spends at least 30 mins of gaming in a day. The reason behind this is that most of the mobile games are free/cheap when compared with console or PC gaming. Apart from that, Google Play Store alone contains a ton of interesting games.
In today’s world, almost everyone owns a mobile device, but not all devices provide the necessary requirements for playing Heavy mobile games such as PUBG.
Factors to consider when playing a heavy mobile game:
- Battery Capacity
- FPS / Performance / Heating issues.
- Internet Connection issues.
Since gaming phones are officially a thing now, all the above factors have been overcome. Today, I am going to list the best gaming phones in 2020. My list is base on performance, screen size, and most importantly battery life.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 (Big Screen)
Galaxy Note 10 features an AMOLED 6.3-inch with a tremendous screen-to-body ratio of 93.2%.
Depending on your location, Galaxy Note 10 will be driven by the Exynos 9825 in the UK and other regions like Asia. If you’re in the US, you’re going to have the Snapdragon 855. This phone is engineered for gaming with a newly designed cooling chamber that perfectly fitted into the slim design. You can even play games when the phone is heated without worrying about lag.
The Android phone has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 512 GB of inner space.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 operates with OneUI operating system on Android 9.0 (Pie) and it is fueled with a 3,500mAh Li-Ion battery. The phone comes with a 25W charger that enables you to charge your Note 10 from 0 – 100% within an hour’s time.
|Dimension||151.00 x 71.80 x 7.90|
|Screen Size||6.3 inches|
|Resolution||1080 x 2280 pixels|
|Chipset||Exynos 9 Octa 9825|
RAZER PHONE 2
The Razer Phone 2 is considered to be the OG gaming phone (the first phone to be marketed as a gaming phone). It is specifically designed for mobile gamers.
The Razer Phone is equipped with a 5.7-inch 16:9 IGZO IPS LCD display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and QHD resolution, providing ultra-smooth visuals.
The 5.7-inch display is super-sharp at 513 pixels-per-inch with a resolution of 1440x 2560 pixels you shouldn’t miss any of the action. Moreover, an improved cooling system inside the chassis means that the Snapdragon 845 processor (Clocked at 2.8GHz ) and 8 GB RAM can actually get to work without overheating.
One of the major drawbacks of Razer phone 2 is the absence of 3.5mm jack and weight (220g), which is pretty heavier when compared with other gaming phones.
|Dimension||158.5 x 79 x 8.5mm|
|Screen Size||5.7 inches|
|Resolution||1440 x 2560 pixels|
One of the best things about ASUS ROG (Republic Of Gamers) phone is that it is developed by Asus with the sole aim of gaming.
The device is equipped with a 6′ AMOLED FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It has a refresh rate of 90Hz. It may not have a screen refresh rate of 120Hz like the Razer Phone 2, but 90Hz still means silky performance and many will still prefer the AMOLED screen.
Asus RoG is equipped with a Snapdragon 845 chipset (overlocked at 2.96GHz ) paired with an 8 GB and 128 GB or 512 GB internal storage.
The phone features three “AirTriggers” of which two of these ultra-responsive sensors are optimized for landscape-mode gaming as left / right triggers located at the top of the display, the third is designed for portrait mode and are fully programmable. With AirTriggers you gain extra gameplay control beyond the screen.
Aero active Cooler
The processor will definitely get hot at higher clock speed. But relax, there’s a big vent on the back to keep the phone from overheating. Moreover, on the ROG phone, Asus added vapor chamber cooling. This includes a carbon cooling pad, heat spreader for copper and a 3D vapor chamber that dissipates heat more quickly.
Asus RoG Accessories:
- ASUS TwinView Dock
- Game Vice Controller
- Desktop Dock
|Dimension||158.80 x 76.20 x 8.60mm|
|Screen Size||6.0 inches|
|Resolution||1440 x 2560 pixels|
XIAOMI BLACK SHARK 2
The Xiaomi Black Shark is Xiaomi’s dedicated gaming smartphone that offers great specs. In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is packed with a Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM and up to 12 GB, and there’s also a 4,000mAh battery inside.
It is equipped with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 60hz. The device is left behind when it comes to screen refresh rate, I mean you can not compare it with Razer phone 2 or Asus RoG phone but 60hz is still enough for a good visual performance.
The device features a pressure-sensitive screen for enhanced control, a liquid-cooling system
that reduces core temperatures by up to 14°C –and the world’s first X-antenna that helps maintain a good internet connection.
It also features a gaming pad that slides onto the end of the phone case. The gaming pad features an analog joystick and trigger button.
There’s ludicrous Mode which provides superior gaming performance.
Xiaomi Black Shark lacks the 3.5mm headphone jack.
|Dimensions||163.6 x 75 x 8.8 mm|
|Screen Size||6.39 inches|
|Resolution||1080 x 2340 pixels|
|RAM||6 GB/8 GB RAM , 8 GB/12 GB RAM|
|Storage||128 GB, 256 GB|
Nubia Red Magic 3 (BEST GAMING PHONE SO FAR)
Nubia Red Magic Mars (RMM) is another dedicated gaming device with great specs and on the budget gaming phone (8 GB RAM variant cost around $419).
The device comes with a 6.65-inch AMOLED screen surrounded by slim bezels with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels.
RMM comes with a Snapdragon 855 processor paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. There is no sd card slot.
Red Magic uses a dual cooling system – Air + Liquid Cooling. This lowers the temperature of the CPU to 13.2 ° C and increases the performance of the CPU by up to 70%.
The Gameboost mode is also included with the Red Magic Phone, activated by switching the red switch on the phone’s side. Gaming performance should be boosted by forcing a more stable framerate, blocking notification alerts, and increasing the loading times of the app.
The Nubia Red Magic 3 has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, unlike the Black Shark gaming phone and the Razer Phone.
|Dimensions||171.7 x 78.5 x 9.7 mm|
|Screen Size||6.65 inches|

iPhone 11 Pro Max
This phone has a big ass Super Retina XDR OLED screen (6.5-inch) which is a +1 advantage for gaming over the above-dedicated gaming phones I’ve mentioned above. The phone is equipped with an A13 Bionic processor which is super fast in terms of performance. The battery power of the iPhone 11 pro max is good enough for its performance (3969mAh).
|Dimension||158 x 77.8 x 8.1 mm|
|Screen Size||6.5 inches|
|Resolution||1242 x 2688 pixels|

The best gaming phones, of course, have powerful processors, large screens, more storage, and most importantly a bigger battery.
