Google unveiled Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G in its fall hardware event that took place yesterday. At the Livestream event, we learned more about the latest Google Pixel 5 price in Nigeria and full specifications.
As the maker of Android, Google is in a powerful position to actually compete with Apple in both hardware and software. But their phones have been unable to perform well in the competition, thereby making it difficult to justify purchasing a Pixel phone against more powerful Apple rivals like Samsung or Oneplus. Check out the little details about the device.
Google Pixel 5 price in Nigeria
The Google Pixel 5 price in Nigeria is in the range of N450,000 – N490,000. Pixel phones are normally not sold in most retail shops and this is because Google has no store here in Nigeria. However, you can find the Pixel 5 in BIG and reputable retail stores in your area or simply order from Jumia or Konga.

The Pixel 5 features a 6-inch edge-to-edge OLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels which is 432 pixels per inch and supports 90Hz refresh rate. A Corning Gorilla Glass 6 covers the screen for extra protection.
Just like in Pixel 4, the device features a dual-camera module on the back, but this time around incorporates an all-new optical and electronic image stabilization on the 12.2 MP (f/1.7) dual-pixel lens and a new ultra-wide lens of 16 MP(f/2.2) with 107˚ FOV. The company still maintained and upgraded the Super Res Zoom (for sharp zoomed-in images), HDR+ live, portrait light, Night Sight Mode, and added a new feature called Cinematic Pan which helps in more stable and smooth video recording. We have an 8MP lens is on the front for selfies.
The Pixel 5 is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 G (supports 5G) with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM. Google has also waterproofed Pixel 5 with an IPX88 waterproofing rating.
Fortunately, a more reasonable 4080mAh fuel tank for the Pixel 5 has replaced the Pixel 4’s pitifully small 2800mAh fuel tank. The Pixel 5 is Qi-certified for wireless charging and also supports reverse wireless charging. It also features an Extreme battery saver mode, which enables up to 48 hours of phone uptime by restricting the device to its absolute basics.
As expected, Google Pixel 5 will be running the latest Android 11 with continuous security and software updates for 3yrs.

The Pixel 5 has some noticeable changes from the Pixel 4 that was released last year, as the company focuses more on value, battery life, display, software, and camera quality. I remember when Google introduced the motion detection feature in Pixel 4 flagship last year, but it was criticized by some consumers, and still, some users complained about its high price and shorter-than-expected battery life.
Google Has done enough to improve from the little mistakes made by the Pixel 4 like dumping the Motion Sense and replacing a much larger battery into the Pixel 5 with support for reverse wireless charging and an ultra power-saving mode. The display also got a super thin chin and a punch hole, all thanks for ditching the motion sensor that occupies all the space needed for such great features.
One thing that’s certain is that, when it comes to pure CPU and GPU strength, the Pixel 5 is slower than the Pixel 4 and this is due to the processor used in Pixel 5. However, the new processor supports 5G connectivity which is a good selling point.
Finally, the spec sheet is not likely going to bring a tough competition to its rivals nor will it make current owners of Pixel 4 and 4 XL think they are lacking out. However, the improved battery life, 5G connectivity, display, and super updated camera (Both on software and hardware) are highly going to attract consumers.
