Huawei P40 Pro was unveiled 3 days ago together with P40 and P40 Pro+. As usual with the P-series, Huawei focuses more on the camera setup like no other. Huawei P40 Pro price in Nigeria will be around N400,000 – N410,000.
The P40 Pro presents an outstanding photography experience with even better sensors when compared with P30 Pro. P40 Pro camera specs emphasize even more on the zoom-in lenses.
Huawei P40 Pro has a lovely four-curve waterfall design that surrounds the screen and Huawei calls it “Quad-Curve Overflow Display” which is a superior display that offers a tremendous 91.6% screen-to-body ratio.
The rear camera bump is clearly similar to the one seen on Samsung Galaxy S20. Thou it is much thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S20+ visually. The main sensor, which is called the “UltraVision Leica Quad Camera,” is the highlight of the Huawei P40 pro.

DESIGN & DISPLAY
The P40 Pro has what is regarded as a ‘Quad-curve Overload Display,’ with all four sides of the display is curved. However, from the top to the bottom, it is actually the glass that curves there.
The device comes with a high-resolution (1,200 x 2,640) OLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display may not be a 120Hz (Like the one seen in Samsung S20), but it is still pretty silky.
At the top and the bottom, there are still relatively small bezels, so while they look smaller than on rival models, they’re no major difference between the bezels when you compare them with the Galaxy S20+.
Although the P40 Pro+, in general, is superior to the P40 Pro. But when it comes to most of the specs, they’re practically similar. They’re fitted with the same Full HD+ 6.58-inch screen, the same chipset, the same battery capacity, the same IR facial activation, and the same resistance to water (IP68).
With regard to the device body, we have the power and volume buttons on the right side. The SIM card slot, USB Type C port, and the speaker grills are found at the bottom.
The P40 Pro will be available in Silver Frost, Blush Gold, Deep Sea Blue, Ice White and, Black. Nonetheless, Huawei will also market the P40 Pro with the fashionable matt finish of Silver Frost and Blush Gold.
Of course, the key feature or selling point of the Huawei P40 Pro is the camera. The camera is what everyone is talking about. It comes equipped with a fresh 50 MP sensor with a 5x periscopic (12 MP) lens responsible for the zooming. The 40 MP (f/1.8 ) ultrawide lens comes with an RGGB-filter and autofocus sensor. The fresh 12MP Sensor which is responsible for the 5x zoom also comes with the RYYB filter and makes it more light at nighttime pictures. Finally, another ToF lens is available for portraits and auto-focus.
Actually, even without a portrait mode utilizing a 2nd infrared depth sensor to help the background blur, selfies from the 32MP autofocus lens turned out really nicely. This is perhaps the most clearly noticeable indication of Huawei’s much-vaunted AI visibility. The camera does not capture 8 K video, but 4 K is enough as AI works well.
Huawei Claims that P40 has 45% better color precision and is able to reliably evaluate, analyze or distinguish environments and individuals by taking advantage of an Ultra Vision main camera and a multi-spectrum Color Temperature Sensor with AI AWB algorithm. It preserves the original look with great light, natural colors, and sharp details with a pixel-level improvement. Be ready always to take portrait images of high quality, at any time or in any scene for everyone.
The device allows a hybrid zoom of up to 50x in addition to the optical zoom. But the pictures at these high zoom rates are not clear.
PERFORMANCE & BATTERY
The device runs on the latest Android 10 based on EMUI 10.1 UI. Huawei P40 comes with a new voice assistant feature named “Celia”. Celia can assist you in making calls, playing music, replying to messages, and checking the weather
Huawei P40 is equipped with Kirin 990 5G that is also seen in Huawei Mate 30 Pro. Kirin90 5G is a 64-bit high-performance chipset designed by HiSillicon. As for the RAM, it comes only in 8 GB variant. As for ROM, it comes in three variant – 128/258/512 GB and this can be expanded with an sd card.
With the fresh 90Hz refresh rate OLED screen, battery consumption is definitely increased but a battery of 4,200mAh is enough to achieve great performance and longer working time. You can Juice up your device with a 40 W supercharger or with 27 W superfast wireless charge or reverse charge from other gadgets that support it.

Huawei P40 Pro Release Date & Price In Nigeria
Surprisingly, for the P40 and P40 Pro, you won’t have to wait that long despite the COVID-19 pandemics— the P40 and P40 Pro will be available for € 799 (Approx N250,000) and € 999 (Approx N410,000) respectively on April 7th.
The only thing that sucks in the Huawei P40 Pro is that it lacks Google play services which makes it almost impossible to enjoy most apps. It is, however, possible to sideload and enjoy but without getting updates.
This US ban is definitely affecting Huawei’s market. I mean what’s the point of having a phone that has no Google services? Not even the best map or search engine. It totally makes no sense to be using an unpopular Store known as AppGallery without enjoying all the essential apps.
Apart from that, Huawei P40 Pro is the type of device that is made for a variety of people – Be it a gamer, photography or videography freaks, and so on.
