Yes, Infinix introduced a new device to the Hot 10 series. With a name like the Infinix Hot 10S, you’d never believe that this is a gaming phone and that it’s also the first Infinix device to run Android 11 with a refreshed XOS 7.6 UI.
The Infinix Hot 10S is a budget challenger that offers far more in terms of features than some of its competitors. The smartphone immediately competes with some of Nigeria’s most well-known brands, including Xiaomi, Realme, and even Samsung.
Before we get into the details, it’s worth mentioning that this devices has a starting price of $130. Some countries will receive an NFC-enabled version, which will vary from the standard version in a few ways.
Like I said earliar, the Infinix Hot 10S is a budget smartphone, so it’s no surprise that it’s made of low-cost materials. The back panel is made of plastic, and it looks and feel like plastic. The back panel has the same glossy plastic colour scheme like other entry-level smartphones, with a glitters-like look.
The Infinix Hot 10S has a 6.82-inch HD display with 720 x 1640 pixels resolution. The display is large and clear, but it isn’t sufficiently bright, and this makes outdoor visibility to be poor. To be honest even indoors, the brightness is low even with brightness of around 60%.
When you have such a huge monitor in your hand, the overall experience on Hot 10S is fine, but the resolution is only 720p, which, when compared to the competition, is sufficient. However, all of the competitors’ displays are smaller, such as the Redmi 9. And 720p resolution on a screen this large is not enough.
The huge size of the screen, however, makes it a perfect phone for avid movie watchers. A punch-hole cutout that houses the front camera is on the top center, which is a good implementation that reduces the distraction of the cutout.
The Infinix Note 10S is configured with a 48 MP wide lens, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 3rd unknown lens. An 8MP wide lens is embedded within a punch hole for taking care of selfies. These cameras performed admirably in low-light environments as well as in optimal lighting conditions.
There are a variety of shooting modes to choose from, including Short Video, Video, Wide Selfie, AI Cam, Beauty, Bokeh, AR Shot, Panorama, and so on. Video can be recorded in 720p, 1080p, or 2K resolution.
The phone is driven by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The Mediatek Helio G85 is a standard ARM SoC that was released in 2020. It has eight CPU cores and is made using a 12 nm FinFET process. For performance tasks, there are two fast ARM Cortex-A75 cores with frequencies up to 2 GHz, and six small ARM Cortex-A55 cores with frequencies up to 1.8 GHz. Heterogeneous Multi-Processing support allows all eight cores to work together. The GPU is an ARM Mali-G52 MC2 with two clusters running at up to 1000 MHz. The SoC also includes the HyperEngine, which manages the CPU, GPU, and memory dynamically.
The smartphone comes with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage that can be expanded.
As for the battery, it is 6,000mAh. It takes a long time to completely charge the battery. With its 10W charger, it will take around 2-3 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. We don’t think the problem is with the adapter because we tried a faster 18W charger and it’s still sluggish. However, it’s difficult to find fault with it for the price.

Infinix Hot 10S price in Nigeria & availability
The Infinix Hot 10S is set to be available in Indonesia starting on May 12 and will then be available in Nigeria may be begining of June. The 6/128GB model will cost $130, but there are other configuration choices available like 4/6GB of RAM and 64/128GB storage respectively. The device will be available in Black, Purple, Morandi Green, and Heart of Ocean
Indonesia, as well as Russia and Latin America, will be able to purchase the Infinix Hot 10S that supports NFC. It will cost $120 for the 4/128GB model.
Meanwhile, we estimate the Xiaomi Redmi 9T price in Nigeria to be in the range of N70,000 – N80,000.
The Infinix Hot 10S is a direct competitor to devices like Tecno Spark 6 and 7. And this is due to the fact that it offers a decent battery life, acceptable camera, average performance for gaming, and simple design. The device of course has some compromises like in the display, and and doesn’t support fast charging but this is not a big deal to those who are not after those things.
The Infinix Hot 10S is a stunning looking handset that establishes a strong balance between battery life and big screen and this matters a lot to users that are more into streaming videos or playing games. It really isn’t intended for someone who cares about absolute speed or quality camera.
With that all said, I’m going to recommend this device to those who consider battery life and watching movies as their main priorities.
The Infinix Hot 10S doesn’t have the strongest processor, fast charging support, or an OLED screen with good resolution, it doesn’t even claim to be the best phone yet it’s a very balanced budget device priced as low as possible with a MASSIVE battery and screen which I believe it is very advantageous for watching Youtube videos all night long.
