Infinix mobility has release Infinix Smart 5 today. Infinix quietly has some new devices in the market right now and the Smart series just got a brand new addition. The Infinix Smart 5 will be available in two variants – Global and 3G variants. The price for the global variant is not mentioned. However, the 3G variant which we believe is the Nigerian variant will be available for N39,500.

The Smart 5 has a large 6.6-inch HD+ display with 720×1,600 pixels. The global and 3G variant packs triple and dual camera modules respectively. Infinix configured the global variant with a 13 MP main sensor and two QVGA sensors. Meanwhile, the 3G variant comes with an 8 MP main sensor with a QVGA sensor. On the front, both variants pack an 8 MP sensor.
The device runs on an Octa-core clocked at 1.8 GHz and 1.3GHz for the global and 3G variants respectively. This is a non-gamer oriented processor. Nonetheless, the processor is coupled to 3/4 GB of RAM and 32/64GB ROM. However the 3G variant or Nigerian variant comes with a 2GB RAMand 32GB ROM. The storage in both variants can be expanded with an sd card.
Infinix Smart 5 runs on Android 10 and uses the stripped-down version of Android OS (Android Go).
As for the battery, it is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and comes with a 10W charger.
Infinix is struggling to deliver a quality device for less price. It is a decent device with widescreen, good camera quality, and a clean user interface. The device is good for its price but If you can raise your budget by 10-20k, you can get a device like Infinix Hot 9 Play that is way better than the Nigerian variant.
