The other Android OEMs started claiming that their models will compete with the Xiaomi 13 as soon as it was released. The Nubia Z50 has been mentioned as one of these phones. When it was first launched yesterday, it was clear it had no chance against the Xiaomi phone. The OnePlus 11 is a different model with similar ideals. The latter is scheduled to go on sale on February 7. But before that, we can determine whether this device will be able to compete with the Mi 13 thanks to numerous leaks and official posters.
What date will the OnePlus 11 debut?
In December 2022, OnePlus announced that the OnePlus 11 5G, as the device is officially known, would be unveiled on February 7, 2023, at an event in New Delhi, India. The precise release date for the phone is unknown.
Since OnePlus often releases its flagships in the spring, the formal announcement of the phone is about in line with what we anticipated. In fact, the OnePlus 10 Pro was first unveiled in China in January 2022.
What is the price of the OnePlus 11?
We’ll use the prior models to position the price as OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the price yet. The price of the most recent flagships is as follows:
- $649/£629/€699 for the OnePlus 10T
- $899/£799/€899 for the OnePlus 10 Pro
- $729/£629/€699 for the OnePlus 9.
- OnePlus 9 Pro costs $999, £829, or €899
- $649/£549/€649 for the OnePlus 8T
We’ll hope to see something a little less expensive, along the lines of the OnePlus 10T, but if OnePlus only chooses to offer a Pro model for the 11-series, it will likely cost around the same as the current 10 Pro. The world chip scarcity, Covid’s delays to production and distribution, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine are all starting to raise prices, so things might not quite work out this easily after all.
OnePlus 11’s display
In the past, OnePlus has dazzled us with its screens, and based on what we saw on the OnePlus 10 Pro we truly liked it. With a variable refresh rate that can go as low as 1Hz and as high as 120Hz, the phone’s magnificent 6.7-inch OLED screen is just amazing. Additionally, it supports HDR and has a high PPI (pixels per inch) for clear images.
For the OnePlus 11, we may currently anticipate OnePlus to replicate this, matching or even outperforming the specifications of the OnePlus 10 Pro display.
In fact, a recent leak revealed the following details about the OnePlus 11’s display:
OLED panel measuring 6.7″ and sporting a wide color range at 120 Hz
On the front of the phone, there is a hole punch selfie camera that resembles the one on the OnePlus 10 Pro quite a bit. The side-facing camera suggests that OnePlus is utilizing the Samsung E4 OLED panel, which is not the most recent screen technology (that would be the E6 OLED with a center punch hole), and this again suggests that the OnePlus 11 will be more affordable than iPhones and Galaxy devices.
OnePlus 11 Design
The design of the OnePlus 11 was unveiled by way of leaked design photos from OnLeaks in mid-September and again in December 2022. The phone will include a large, circular camera module with three sensors, as seen in the images above. Prior speculations claimed that the OnePlus 11 will have a rotating camera island, but those now seem incredibly unlikely because a recent leak of the OnePlus 11 official poster confirms the former.
The Alert Slider is returning, and it can be seen to the left of the camera module as another noteworthy design element. Although OnePlus fans were content with having it, some of the company’s more recent phones didn’t, so seeing it return is a wonderful sight and gives this phone a distinct early OnePlus vibe.
Camera
OnePlus has never been particularly good at photography, but over the past few years, the company has kept striving for better outcomes. Its color tuning sets it apart from other contemporary smartphones thanks to a collaboration with Hasselblad. Even though it wasn’t there on the OnePlus 10T, that marking comes back for 2023 and can be seen right in the center of the lens grid.
On the hardware side, expect a 50MP primary lens, a 48MP ultra-wide short lens, and a 32MP telephoto lens capable of shooting 2x photos. It has a weak optical zoom compared to products like Samsung and Google, but software tricks might be able to help. In fact, the OnePlus 11’s camera lineup is probably going to be defined or ruined by the software; while the OnePlus 10 Pro managed to take some excellent pictures last year, it was wildly inconsistent. We’ll have to check back later to see whether the company has fixed any of these bugs.
OnePlus 11: performance and specifications
Although OnePlus occasionally updates its phones a little slowly, Android 13 has worked out very nicely this year. All of the company’s most recent flagships, including the OnePlus 10T and OnePlus 8 series, are currently running the most recent version of Android. While we can’t guarantee that this pace will continue indefinitely, we do know that the OnePlus 11 will come pre-installed with OxygenOS 13, which is based on Android 13.
Additionally, this gadget will probably be the first of its kind to receive four significant OS upgrades coupled with five years of security patch coverage, thanks to the company’s new update plan. In essence, Android 17 will be available to OnePlus 11 users in 2028.
The OnePlus 11 is undoubtedly going to be a strong contender for the most potent flagship in 2023, despite the absence of a “Pro” in its moniker. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the latest generation from the company that builds on the success of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 before it. On the very day of its launch, OnePlus revealed that it intended to employ the chipset, making it one of the earliest next-gen phones we are aware of. Otherwise, expect to see a lot of what we anticipate from a contemporary flagship.
The OnePlus 11 is expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery coupled with 100W fast-charging, Wi-Fi 6e, and UFS 4.0 storage with read and write speeds of up to 4,200MB/s and 2,800MB/s, respectively. Up to 16GB of RAM, though probably only 8GB in its base SKU. The faster your phone can operate, the better if you intend to capture a lot of 4K video in good quality.
