OnePlus, with its relatively expensive devices is well known for competing with Samsung, Huawei, and Apple but this time around OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Nord and it is taking another direction. This 5G mid-range device has a lot of features similar to the OnePlus 8 but it is way cheaper than that. So basically, OnePlus Node is officially into the mid-range market competition.
OnePlus Node is available in Nigeria with the 6GB+64 GB RAM variant for N250,000 and N280,000 for the 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. At this price point, it’s not only one of the best mid-ranger in the market right now, but it’s also a company’s effort to compete in the mid-range market.
After a series of noises regarding the OnePlus Nord, to my understanding, it will have a successor in the future and the ‘Nord’ will be included in the name of the mid-ranger series. That’s just by the way. Read the full details below.

Display & Design Of OnePlus Nord
You might easily confuse the display specs of the OnePlus Nord for a far more expensive device. With a screen size of 6.4-inch, a Full HD AMOLED display, a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, and a refresh rate of 90Hz, it stands up against the kind of displays that you might see on mid-range devices like Samsung Galaxy A51 5G and Xiaomi Mi Note 10. And because the Nord display is rated at a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, you should have no trouble seeing the image even in bright sunlight.
The screen of the OnePlus Node is flat with minimal bezels and covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for extra protection. The only obstruction to the flat screen is the punch-hole which houses the dual selfie cameras.
The regular OnePlus alert slider is present and on the right, and the way it helps you to mute your phone easily with a switch is really good. there’s a USB-C port along with a single speaker grille at the bottom. A fingerprint scanner is inserted within the display, enabling you to easily unlock your device.
Sadly, the Nord does not have an approved water-resistance IP rating. This is not surprising as the majority of mid-ranger devices are just like that. But OnePlus claims that it should be able to handle the unexpected water spill.
The OnePlus Node is the type of phone that, as you carry it, it looks like a luxury device, with a quality build and classic design.
The OnePlus Nord features a quad-lens set-up which consists of a 48 MP(f/1.8) Sony IMX 586 lens and this lens supports optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization. Nex to it is the 8 MP(f/2.3) ultra-wide lens with 119˚ field of view, a 5 MP (f/2.4) depth lens, and a 2 MP(f/2.4 ) macro lens.
The device comes with a dual selfie camera and consists of a 32 MP(f/2.5) wide lens and an 8 MP (f/2.5) ultrawide lens with a 105˚ field of view.
There are many features in the camera department which include portrait mode, nightscape, 240fps slow-motion video capture, 30fps 4 K recording, and so on.
Performance & Battery
The OnePlus Nord performance is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 G chipset coupled with 6 GB, 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 64 GB or 128 GB or 256 GB respectively.
The OnePlus Nord supports 5 G connectivity, which ensures that when 5G connectivity becomes a reality in your city, you can reap the benefit from the speeds.
It may not have the most exciting performance specs on paper but surely OnePlus needed to make compromises on the performance in order to provide this device for such price point.
OnePlus Node is powered by a 4,115 mAh battery which if the device is used for basic activities can last for 2 days. It comes with a 30W Warp Charge 30 T and OnePlus claims that in 30 minutes you can fill the phone up to 70 percent; if that assertion is true, then it implies that you’ll never be left with an empty Nord.
