Oppo has recently introduced a new phone in China named the Oppo Reno 5 5G in the Reno series. The company has implemented a chipset that supports 5G connectivity. For the new series, the company attempted to concentrate on two key features—looks and camera.
Here’s what we know about the Oppo Reno 5 5G which comes with a fair price and in many ways hits far above its value.
But of course, its relative inexpensiveness indicates that you get compromises in certain areas. Does it really matter what he lacks? Find out below.
When it comes to designing attractive smartphones, OPPO has long been a leader and this is not in any way different for the Reno 5 5G. The only thing I’m worried about is the design is not a standout when compared to its predecessor.
The 6.43-inch AMOLED curved screen comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a pixel density of 410PPI, and typical screen brightness of ~ 600nit which is very okay. The device has a display that is ideal for binge-watching Netflix and playing video games.
As for the camera aspect, the device packs 5 cameras in total. We have a single front main camera of 32 MP with an f/2.4 aperture. As in the trend, there’s a quad-camera setup on the rear which consists of a 64MP main camera (f/1.7 aperture), an 8MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2 aperture, 2MP (f/2.4 aperture)macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor (f/2.4 aperture).
The Oppo Reno 5 5G isn’t a powerhouse. You’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 765G (7 nm) under the hood which is 5G capable and it is coupled with 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal memory which can not be expanded. The Snapdragon™ 765G SoC comes with X52 5G Modem-RF System (which supports mmWave) and a 5th gen AI Engine that provides power blazing performance.

The Oppo Reno 5G is a mixed bag of good and bad. Like I mentioned earlier, the device design is fine, but it doesn’t stand out when compared with its predecessor. Three major aspects that I liked about the device are the display, 5G connectivity (Which is a thing now), and of course the super-fast charging tech.
if you really have read through every detail from the above short review, you may have already realized that I didn’t complain about the Oppo Reno 5 5G. If you check the device specs and compare it to its predecessor, you’ll find out that the Oppo Reno 5 5G is indeed an upgrade in many aspects and the release price is somewhat lowered.
