Oppo’s last smartwatch, the Oppo Watch 2, was a big hit among Android smartwatch fans. The smartwatch plainly resembled the Apple Watch series in many ways, including a curved screen and a rectangular watch face. Oppo’s forthcoming Watch 3 series appears to carry on the design motif from the previous series.
The Oppo Watch 3 has yet to be launched, but we can get our first glance at the next wristwatch according to well-known leakster Evan Blass. According to the images, Oppo isn’t making much modifications from the previous series, however the watch appears to be somewhat bent vertically this time around, sort of moulding the wrist’s contour. There’s also a redesigned crown on the side, when earlier models simply had navigation buttons.
According to XDA Developer mlgmxyysd, the new Oppo watch series will comprise three variants this time. Auster, Altron, and Altron SE are the codenames for these models. On release, this could indicate a premium version, as well as two significantly step-down variants in different sizes. Each watch model will be available in two color options: black and silver. Some of the models may receive more colorways once the watch is officially released.
Previous rumors suggest that the new Oppo Watch 3 series would be powered by the new Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, which is designed exclusively for wearables. In terms of software, the new series, like the previous one, would most likely employ Google’s wearOS outside of China.
