Realme C20 price in Nigeria and full specs

Realme quietly unveiled the Realme C20 smartphone in Vietnam and it comes with a super affordable price tag with appealing entry-level specs. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, runs Android 10 with realm UI on top, has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, and includes a 6.5-inch HD+ mini-drop display.

It seems that Realme is on a different course. The company is in no position to slow down as every month it releases a variety of devices. The Chinese brand aims to give consumers more options at any price point. However, this will make selecting the correct device more challenging for consumers.

While the C series is Realme’s battery-centric device, the company has maintained a great option for consumers who don’t want to spend much and still want a resilient battery, a HUGE display, and decent design quality.

Right now in the budget and mid-range market, Realme faces intensified competition and needs to be releasing valuable devices in order to maintain its dominance.

The Realme C20 is an amazing value-for-money device. It has a wide display of decent quality, a great setup of dual-camera, and delivers performance that is on board with one of its main competitors like Tecno Spark 6 Go. Now check out the full specs below.

Quick review

Realme C20 - Realme C20 price in Nigeria and full specs

The latest Realme C20 directly relates to the current generation of thin-bezel big-screen phones. It has a 6.5-inch screen, which these days are almost the normal screen size on most if not all Android phones. At such a price point, the LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and 270PPI pixel density is basically on board with every other Android device in this price range.

The Realme C20 comes with a single 8 MP(f/2.0) wide sensor and a 5 MP (f/2.2) wide sensor on the front for video calls and taking selfies.

Though we consider the Realme C20 as an entry-level handset, when gripped, it does not feel like one as it feels premium and durable. It has a rear panel made of polycarbonate with a textured finish.

Of course, compromises are typical and must be done in this price segment in order to cut costs. The phone comes with a chipset that is not powerful. We have the MediaTek Helio G35 (12 nm) which is coupled with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage.

In most cases, the chipset will provide a smooth experience, although it will lag when playing hardcore games or multitasking.

According to Realme, on a single charge, the 5,000mAh battery will comfortably last you all day. As usual, the device supports 10W charging and according to Realme, it will take less than 2hours for the included 10W charger to juice the device from 0-100%. Similarly, the device comes with the latest RealmeOS user interface that runs on the Android 10 operating system.

Dark mode fans will be thrilled, as default dark mode support from Android 10  comes with this handset. Other services like Agoda, Lazada, and Facebook. The device also features a lot of its own stock apps such as Game Center, Hey Tap Cloud, and App Store.

Realme C20 price in Nigeria & availability

In Vietnam, the latest Realme C20 was released at a price of VND 2,490,000 (roughly N42,000). Blue and gray color options are available for the handset. There are no details as at the time of writing this post as to whether or not this phone will be released in Nigeria. However, we expect it to be available by April with a price range of N45,000 – N50,000.

Verdict

For around N45,000, if your primary concern is not the long battery life, then the Realme C20 is a little difficult to recommend. The brand has held the primary emphasis on the battery with this handset, and made other aspects less valueble.

With that said, the Realme C20 has an excellent battery backup, which, is superior to most other phones in this price range. It also has a nice design, but with a heavy build and this is due to the huge battery. Finally, you will have at your fingertips a simple  Realme UI software. In this price range, the Realme C20 is obviously not the best device, but it delivers what it offers long-lasting battery life.

Should you buy it?

For less than N50,000, when compared to the Realme C12 launched last year, the C20 is certainly not improved. It has low RAM storage, fewer cameras, and a smaller battery 6,000mAh, making it an inferior option. But If you’re looking for the latest phone and a good daily driver that can serve as pocket WiFi and can fulfill your binge-watching needs for light tasks, then we suggest the C20!
