Some months ago Realme launched the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro mid-rangers and now they unveiled new devices named Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro. September just kicked off and Realme has already launched two mid-range smartphones. The company continues to the very same strategy for all its releases by providing devices with top specs in different variants at different price points. Realme X7 price in Nigeria starts from N110,000.

Realme has been competing very closely with Xiaomi over the past years, especially in the midrange segment, and this has elevated the performance standard of several devices in the process.  For almost every release from Realme, there has to be at least one competing model and this saga continues. The Realme X7 is a direct competitor to Xiaomi Redmi Note 9.

Short Review

Unlike the LCD display we saw on Realme 6, the company has opted for a Super AMOLED display this time around. Despite the pixel density falling a little below 420 PPI, the 6.4-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels is very fine is you ask me.

The Realme X7 screen features 480-nits screen brightness and a 90-Hz refresh rate which makes it flutter-free while you scroll through apps. An extra layer of Corning Gorilla Glass covers the screen for extra protection.

The Realme X7 has an identical rear camera configuration to the Realme 6. There is a main sensor of 64 MP(f/1.8), an ultra-wide camera of 8 MP(f2.3) with a FOV of 119°, a macro sensor of 2 MP(f/2.4) with a focus distance of 4cm, and a depth sensor of 2 MP(f/2.4). We have a 32 MP (f/2.5) wide lens on the front with a FOV of 85°.

Realme X7 is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G (7 nm) octa-core CPU which comprises 2 ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. It is a brand new processor launched just last month and it brings an integrated 5G modem, dual 5G SIM support (SA & NSA modes), and higher CPU speeds.

The device uses the storage option LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1. It packs up to 8 GB of RAM and has an internal storage space of up to 128 GB (No sd card slot). It runs on top of the new Android 10 operating system, with a Realme UI layer.

Realme X7 comes with a battery of 4,300mAh. It comes along with a 65W smart flash charger. The company claims the device will charge in 30mins from 1-100 percent.
