MacBook Air M2 Chip Purple Feature 800x450 - Rumor: Apple to launch a 15-Inch MacBook Air this year

Its been long reported that Apple is revamping its MacBook Air lineup with a 12-inch and 15-inch variant.

New information obtained from Mark Gurman, indicates that Apple is still on pace to produce a larger iteration of the MacBook Air this year. According to the report, Apple’s intention is purportedly to produce a 15-inch MacBook Air at some point this year.

Gurman did not provide any additional information regarding the 15-inch MacBook Air. Nevertheless, display analyst Ross Young had previously stated that Apple would begin production of 15.5-inch display panels for the MacBook Air in the first quarter of 2023.  If everything stays the same with the schedule, then the device might be available for purchase as early as the spring of this year.

In terms of the design, we do not anticipate the company to release a model with a new design given the recent upgrades that were made to the MacBook Air. Therefore, the device will essentially have the same design as the devices that are now available.

The M2 chip or the M2 Pro processor, which Apple has not yet revealed, may power the upcoming 15′ Macbook Air. It is anticipated that the new M2 series processors will be announced very soon. These chips will power a few additional Mac devices this year.

The 12-inch MacBook Air, which was previously reported to arrive either this year or in 2024, is no longer in the company’s short-term plans, which suggests that the laptop will not be coming any time in the near future.
