Samsung Galaxy A02s price and full specifications

Samsung unveiled 2 new budget devices namely Galaxy A02s and Galaxy A12. The good thing about these devices is that they are all less than $200. The Samsung Galaxy A02s is the successor to Galaxy A01s that was released last year and it packs major upgrades in the camera and battery departments. Before we begin with the short review, it is essential to note that the A02s is a device meant for buyers on a tight budget but yet wanting to have a big-screened and long-lasting Android phone.

The Galaxy A02s features a 6.5-inch TFT screen with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels, ~259 PPI pixel density, and 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone features an infinity-V notch that houses a 5MP selfie camera.

There is also a triple-camera module on the back which consists of a 13MP wide lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy A02s comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage which can be expanded with up to 1TB sd card. The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 450 (14 nm) processor and the Adreno 506 handles the graphics.

The battery department is one of the major selling points of the Samsung Galaxy A02s. It has a capacity of 5,000mAh and supports 15W fast charging technology. With a combination of regular and heavy use, the battery will last for more than a day on a single charge.

Verdict

Samsung seems to have focused on the right specs with the Galaxy A02s, after navigating the extremely fine balance between affordability and average functionality.

However, the price and the volatile market saturation of Samsung poses a possible major hurdle. At the moment, the A02s is overpriced for the specs it packs and it has to compete with other Galaxy A-branded phones, while at the same time facing intense competition from other smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi Redmi, Realme, Infinix, and Tecno.

Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy A02s when it is released? Well, If you’re searching for a phone with a battery that is capable and can last all day long on a single charge, then this is a simple recommendation. The Galaxy A02s is basically a media powerhouse, and for those who are looking for a cheap phone with high-quality cameras, decent performance, and a decent display, then I wouldn’t recommend it to you.
