Samsung’s A-series, which began as a line of low-cost phones but has since progressed into a mid-range line and this made the A-Series territory evolve in confidence. The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is the latest phone in the A-series, with some amazing specs to please some users.
Does the Galaxy A52 5G have what it takes to keep up with the latest Galaxy A phones in terms of value for money? In this review, we’ll give you all the little details we got.
Design & Display
To be honest, the design of the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is possibly its major selling point, as it features a similar design as the Samsung Galaxy A32 which is pretty new but one down sight is the drab-looking plastic back. The back of the device has a nearly unnoticeable rectangular or square camera bump that houses the cameras.
The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G sports a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 405PPI pixel density, 800 nits peak brightness, and a superb refresh rate of 120Hz. The display is very similar to the Galaxy A52 (4G variant) and as usual, the display of the A52 5G is very clean and supports HDR10 and certification for Widevine L1. The display brightness is also enough to use the phone outside without having any issues.
When it comes to weight, the Galaxy A52 5G is not that heavy and this is due to the average size of its battery. There’s a rounded punch hole at the center, so there are small bezels, and the A52 5G looks like any other recent Samsung smartphone. The fingerprint scanner is built under the display and, like most fingerprint sensors, it is extremely fast and accurate.
For those that are interested, the device has a headphone socket, but no earbuds are included in the package. A 15W super quick charger is included, as well as a USB-C cable.
The phone has four cameras on the back which consist s of a 64MP (f/1.8) primary lens, a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field of view, a 5MP (f/2.2) macro lens, and a 5MP (f/2.2) depth sensor. The 32MP (f/2.0) front-facing camera on Samsung’s mid-range smartphone lineup is becoming popular. The configuration of the camera isn’t distinct from what we’ve seen on the Galaxy F62 5G, so the quality of the image is very identical.
The main 64MP camera is particularly capable of handling clean outdoor shots. The depth is clearly noticeable in pictures, especially when taking a picture of a sunset. When shooting landscapes, the ultrawide camera also comes in very handy. Also, the shots of the portrait mode also turned out well.
Samsung has also introduced many flagship camera features, such as Single Take, which uses the AI of the camera to capture multiple stills from different lenses and apply filters automatically by pressing the shutter once.
Performance & Battery
On the hardware side, the Galaxy A52 5G is amazing, easily displacing the Galaxy A71, which was already a great phone, as Samsung’s best upper mid-range handset. In reality, the camera and design make it even better than the A71, so if specs are all that matters to you and the Galaxy A52 5G suits your budget, you can buy it blindly. You will not be disappointed.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset, which is a mid-range processor. The A32 5G is a fantastic performer. When running apps or playing games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Sonic Dash, you will never experience any app crashes, screen freezes, or stuttering. There is also support for 5G connectivity, which is fine.
With such an average battery capacity of 4,500 mAh, it should come as no surprise that the device can still last for a day, but for average use. This is not something that can be said for several phones as most of the phones now have huge battery sizes that can last for a day even with the most intense activities. To be clear, this is not the best choice for consumers that are after long-lasting battery life. Similarly, the device supports 25W Fast Charging but comes with a 15W charger in the box. Only Samsung can explain that.

Samsung Galaxy A52 5G price in Nigeria & availability
The latest Samsung Galaxy A52 5G was released at a price of $629.00. Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue color options are available for the handset. There are no details as at the time of writing this post as to whether or not this phone will be released in Nigeria. However, we expect it to be available by April with a price range of N250,000 – N270,000.
The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G has a wide and high-quality display, acceptable performance, good cameras, average battery, and, most importantly, an outstanding design. One might also argue that the phone has no genuine competitors. In general, this is a fantastic smartphone, particularly for those who make decisions based on camera and design.
Of course, I think the device looks a bit more unique physically, and it’s also a little more lightweight. The battery, on the other hand, is average when compared with most phones at this price segment. Anything other than that, all is pretty much the same, so if the display, camera and design are more important than battery life, the option is pretty straightforward.
