A Samsung tablet with the model number SM-X506B was found in the Geekbench database in September. At the time, people thought it might be the upcoming Galaxy Tab S8 FE. Now, Roland Quandt, a popular tipster gave more info about the device.
First, the source says that the Samsung tablet with the model number SM-X506B and the codename “Birdie” will be the Galaxy Tab S8 FE. All of the displays on the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra are AMOLED. But the Galaxy Tab S8 FE, which is more affordable, will have an LCD screen. It will have a Wacom digitizer, so you will be able to use a stylus with it.
The Galaxy Tab S8 FE will have a MediaTek octa-core chip, which is made up of 2 x Cortex-A78 (2.6GHz), 6 x Cortex-A55 (2.0GHz), and a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. This information came from a Geekbench listing that was seen before. It looks like the device will have the Kompanio 900T chipset built in.
The Kompanio 900T indicates that the Galaxy Tab S8 FE will be able to connect to 5G networks. The listing on Geekbench says that the phone has 4 GB of RAM and Android 13 OS. One UI 5 is likely to be added on top of Android 13. At the moment, there is no information about when the device will be available.
If you can remember, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, which came out in May 2021, has a 12.4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels. It has a Snapdragon 778G processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and a 10,900mAh battery that can be charged at 45W. The Tab S7 FE has a microSD card slot and up to 256 GB of storage space.
