The year 2022 is almost over, which means that a whole new year of smartphones is about to come out. Most of the time, Samsung is the first big company to show up with its latest flagship. A recent leak suggests that this will happen again in 2023. Ice Universe, a well-known Twitter leaker, says that Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on February 1. This is when we expect the company to show the public the Galaxy S23 series.
Ice Universe says that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be shown for the first time on February 1, 2023, at the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 launch event. This could be the date for the US market, while February 2 could be the date for other Regions
It was earlier reported that the Samsung Galaxy S23 line has been delayed and won’t come out until the middle or end of February. The delay happened because the South Korean company couldn’t decide on how to price the devices in the end.
Please remember, even thou this information comes from one of the best Samsung leakers, it is in no way official, and Samsung could easily change the date since it is still a few months away.
What to expect
The most exciting thing about the Galaxy S23 family is that Samsung is finally switching to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips and will no longer sell flagships with Exynos chips.
Before, Galaxy phones in the US had a Snapdragon chip, but phones in other parts of the world had an Exynos chip, which was less powerful and used more power. After people in India complained about this, Samsung switched to a Snapdragon chip in that market last year. However, the UK and Europe still got Galaxy phones with Exynos chips. Leaks say that this is coming to an end, but we won’t know for sure until Samsung makes an official announcement at Unpacked 2023.
The most interesting of the three new phones is the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It has the same look as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the edge is a little bit flatter, making it easier to pick up from a table. It should also come with a huge upgrade to the camera, with a new 200MP main camera that should work much better and take clearer photos and videos in low light.
You can also expect a bunch of smaller changes, like a newer OLED screen with even better colors and changes to the S Pen. Even though the battery size won’t change, we expect it to last a little longer because the chip and screen will use less power.
The camera on the other two models, the Galaxy S23 Plus and the Galaxy S23 compact, will look like the camera on the Ultra, with separate rings for each lens.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip will also be in these two models, which is great news for their speed and productivity.
They might also have better cameras, but unlike the S23 Ultra model, they won’t have a periscope zoom lens.
The Galaxy S23 Plus is still the better choice for people who want a bigger screen and longer battery life. The Galaxy S23, on the other hand, is designed to be easy to use with one hand but will have the smallest battery in the series.
