TECNO Mobile has partnered with JetSynthesys’ Skyesports, the top esports event organizer in South Asia, to host an exciting mobile gaming tournament that will last for an entire year. The tournament is called the Call of Duty Mobile India POVA Cup.
In the first season of the event, some of the best Call of Duty teams from all over India will battle against one another in a high-stakes clash. During this gaming festival, the TECNO POVA smartphones will be taking advantage of Skyesports’ grassroots-level penetration as well as the elaborated esports events in order to build a fantastic connection with the Zillenials who have a zeal for mobile gaming. The matches of the tournament would be live-streamed on the official social media platforms of Skyesports in four different languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu – in order to effectively interact with the gaming enthusiasts located in every nook and cranny of the country.
TECNO Mobile India CEO Arijeet Talapatra made the following statement in reference to the recent partnership:
In the current year, India witnessed more than 50 crore citizens taking up gaming. This also signifies a noteworthy 12 percent growth from last year. The gaming industry in India experienced a massive growth of $2.6 billion, and it is anticipated that the industry would continue to expand by another 27%, reaching the threshold of $8.6 billion. TECNO expanded its POVA series of smartphones after noticing a shift in consumer preference toward mobile gaming. The company also helped drive the revolution by supplying feature-rich gaming devices under the same brand umbrella. POVA as a product line connects with the trinity of speed, power, and performance and encourages Millenials to “Stop At Nothing” and continue to hustle. The Call of Duty Mobile POVA cup is an annual competition that was developed by our company in collaboration with Skyesports. Our goal in doing so was to cultivate a community of mobile gaming enthusiasts and provide a performance-based, immersive experience to passionate players using POVA devices
Shiva Nandy, founder, and CEO of Skyesports, which is a subsidiary of JetSynthesys, made the following statement in response to the newly formed partnership:
We are very excited to collaborate with TECNO POVA and to deliver the Call of Duty Mobile POVA Cup.” There are over 396 million people in India who play video games, and they play for an average of 14 hours per week. As a result, such a relationship will make it possible for TECNO POVA to directly highlight its smartphones to a younger and more tech-savvy audience throughout the course of the year. The event will also improve the esports scene of the game from the grassroots level and deliver constant action for fans of the game as well as players of the game in general.
Anuj Tandon, the Chief Executive Officer of JetSynthesys’s Gaming Division, said,
I see this partnership as an event to showcase the growth, reach, and power of our gaming sector.” Call of Duty is a high-octane video game that is both exciting to play and exciting to watch, making it an ideal choice for this relationship. Tecno and Skyesports will collaborate to ensure that everyone who takes part in the event and watches it anywhere in the world has an unforgettable time. Can’t wait for the fans and gamers to show up there so they can take advantage of this one-of-a-kind event.
It is anticipated that the Call of Duty Mobile POVA Cup will be one of the most significant esports competitions held in India for the mobile shooter to date. It will include a format that lasts for an entire year and spans numerous seasons, giving both amateur and professional players the opportunity to compete and refine their talents. The end of these seasons will be a dramatic Grand Finals competition that will take place at the end of 2023.
