Smartphones from the Vivo X90 series were introduced to the Chinese market for the first time in November last year. Following the publication of the very first teaser for the products by Vivo Malaysia on Facebook, it is now quite likely that the business will shortly be unveiling the highly awaited smartphone series in other markets across the world.
According to recent reports, Vivo is hard at work preparing the Vivo X90 and the Vivo X90 Pro, both of which incorporate the Dimensity 9200 processor into their respective devices. There is lots of speculation that the Vivo X90 Pro+, which made its debut in China in November 2022 as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone, will not be made available in other markets around the world. The global release date of the Vivo X90 series has been hinted at in a recent Playfuldroid report.
Although the X90 series range includes three distinct versions, including the standard Vivo X90, the X90 Pro, and the X90 Pro+, only the first two models are anticipated to make their way to the global market, at least for the initial launch, which is planned to take place on January 31st.
According to another rumor, the X90 and X90 Pro would only be offered in Malaysia in a single configuration that features 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space.
There is a possibility that colors like Asteroid Black and Breeze Blue are offered for sale on the X90 in the country.
On the other hand, the Pro model was only available in a color known as legendary black. The leak also states that the pricing of the X90 will be MYR 3,699 (about $846), while the price of the X90 Pro will be MYR 5,299 (approximately $1,212).
Specs
Without a shadow of a doubt, the X90 Pro will be the most exciting model between the two as it will come equipped with a stunning-looking 6.78-inch QHD AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 120 hertz, a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, a 50.3MP triple-cam system, a 32MP front-facing camera, a 4,870mAh battery, as well as support for 120W fast wired charging.
The vanilla X90 has the same 6.78-inch QHD AMOLED display as the more expensive model, as well as the same MediaTek Diminsity 8200 CPU and 120W fast wired charging. The X90 has a periscope camera with 50 megapixels, but the X90 + has a telephoto camera with 12 megapixels. The main difference between the two is that the telephoto camera on the X90 + is 12 megapixels.
In a similar manner, the primary camera on the X90 Pro, which was formerly equipped with a 50.3-megapixel Sony IMX989 sensor, was replaced with an older 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 sensor instead. In spite of this, it maintains OIS stabilization as well as laser autofocus for its primary unit.
