According to reputable industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s next iPad mini could be released in late 2023 or early 2024. Kuo also noted that the upgrade will be minimal in comparison to the model that is currently available, disclosing that the next-generation device will most likely only feature a spec improvement through an upgraded chip.
Kuo says that mass shipments of the new device should start by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024. No other information was given about what to expect from the next iPad mini, which got a major update last year that included a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, an all-screen design, an A15 Bionic chip, Centre Stage, 5G, and more.
When it comes to upcoming iPad upgrades, Kuo claims it is doubtful that Apple will replace the iPad mini with a foldable iPad in 2025, despite prior speculations in the community otherwise. Kuo says that this is because the foldable device would have a higher price point than the current iPad mini, which means that it is unlikely that the mini would be ditched in favor of a higher-priced alternative. In other words, the iPad mini is unlikely to be discontinued in favor of a foldable.
