For MYR 389,800 ~ $290 ~ N110,000, the Vivo S1 Prime is currently available for sale in Myanmar and hoping to arrive here in Nigeria in a couple of months. Vivo is gradually taking a lot of hits in the Nigerian market. Nigerians are now quite familiar with their phones. Just look at how Vivo Y30 and Vivo Y50 gain popularity and you will understand what I’m talking about.
Vivo S1 Prime is a mid-range smartphone that comes with a unique rear diamond-shaped camera module which houses the four camera sensors (Similar to Infinix Zero 8). It also features a waterdrop notch, a Snapdragon 665 chipset, and a fingerprint scanner under the front glass.
Short review

The Vivo S1 Prime is quite similar to that of the Vivo S1 Pro that was launched in India in early January. A downgraded selfie camera setup is the principal difference between the two and the S1 Prime comes in one variant (8GB RAM and 128 GB ROM).
Vivo S1 Prime brings in a quadruple-camera configuration which consists of 48 MP (f/1.8) main sensor accompanied by an ultra-wide 8 MP (f/2.2) sensor, a macro sensor of 2 MP (f/2.4) and a 2 MP (f/2.4) autofocus depth sensor. Using the various combinations of lenses you can expect to capture reasonably good images. The phone has a 16 MP (f/2.0) for the selfies and video calls. As for video recording, you can record 1080p @30fps videos.
Vivo S1 Prime is packed with a 6.38-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen. The screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and 404PPI pixel density which will provide sharp visuals. The screen has a waterdrop notch with a screen-to-body ratio of nearly 83 percent.
The Vivo S1 Prime uses the 11 nm Snapdragon 665 octa-core chipset from Qualcomm, a chipset that is used in Vivo S1 Pro.
A Sufficient 8GB RAM and Storage of 128 GB ROM is coupled to the chipset and runs the device for a sufficient day-to-day use. Heavy games can be enjoyed but the experience can be average. The Vivo S1 Prime packs a 4,500mAh battery and supports 18 W fast charging.

Vivo S1 Prime price in Nigeria & availability
Like I said earlier, Vivo is gradually taking the Nigerian midrange market with no signs of slowing down. Vivo is number 2 top-selling smartphone manufacturer in China and their devices are pretty good. The only problem right now with Vivo is the launching of their devices here in Nigeria is really slow and expect longer wait time.
Nonetheless, the expected price for Vivo S1 Prime in Nigeria will be around N110,000 – N120,000. As of now, we have no info concerning the release of Vivo S1 Prime in Nigeria but STAY TUNED by subscribing to our notification.
Conclusion
At least on paper, the Vivo S1 Pro is a reasonably attractive device with good battery life, clear display, and decent performance. The design of Vivo in general, is eye-catching and this is true to the S series, and the diamond-shaped camera module is a stand-out from the square and rectangular shape we use to see recently. Vivo has somewhat given priority to elegance above all and has opted for this price point with a fairly underpowered chipset.
