Vivo launched a new budget device named Vivo Y20s in Nigeria for a price tag of N85,000. Over the last few weeks, the budget segment has seen numerous smartphone releases and prospective customers already have more variety than ever.
The Vivo Y20s comes fitted with a 6.51-inch HD+ LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9, ~81.6% screen-to-body ratio, and ~270PPI pixel density.
The Vivo Y20s sports a triple camera configuration on the back which consists of a 13 MP (f/2.2) primary sensor, a 2 MP (f/2.4) macro sensor, and a 2 MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. A dew-drop notch houses the 8 MP (f/1.8) camera for selfies.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor power the device and it is coupled to 4/6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB internal capacity which can be expanded with an sd card.
A new Ultra Gaming Mode has been added and this connects you to the brand-new Esports Mode, which adds intensity to regular gameplay. Also, a new gaming album and screen recording features have been added. So this means that both your screenshots and screen recordings will be saved automatically to the appropriate Game Album.
With a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 Processor and 4/6/8 GB of RAM, the Y20s can perform averagely on multitasking and gaming. You can also expand your memory storage via the triple card slot.
The device comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 18W FlashCharge technology that will fully charge your device in just 1hr20mins. Now you can conveniently charge on the go. Vivo Y20s supports reverse charging functionality which will allow you to charge other gadgets, however, reverse charging requires an OTG cable that needs to be ordered separately.

Verdict
My major problem with these Chinese phone manufacturers is how they tend to release devices in a short period of time and most of them are very identical with unnoticeable differences. The Vivo Y20s and Y20 are very identical and the only difference between these two is the RAM options. Y20 only comes in 4GB RAM option while Y20s comes in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options.
Thanks to the nice-looking build, a huge screen, and decent performance. For N85,000 these days, you can get a device with better performance, but most consumers don’t care about that.
