Today, the Xiaomi 13 series made its debut in China. Both the standard and Pro versions are included. The devices are the replacement for the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro from the previous year and come with major improvements. At the event, Xiaomi also revealed the Redmi Buds 4, Watch S1 Pro, and MIUI 14 in addition to the smartphones.
Xiaomi 13 price and availability
White, Black, Green, and Light Blue are the available colors for the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Five limited unique colors—Flame Red, Sapphire Blue, Hurricane Yellow, Jungle Green, and Cement Gray—are also revealed for the normal variant. Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are now open in China. The sales of both smartphones will start on December 14.
Specifications for the Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro
The 6.36-inch OLED display on the Xiaomi 13 has a resolution of 2400 x 1800, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a punch-hole cutout, HDR10+, and a maximum brightness of 1900 nits. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with graphics processing from an Adreno GPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage. The software is handled by the MIUI 14 custom skin, which is based on Android 13.
5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connection for charging and data syncing are among the available connectivity choices. For security, a fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display. The phone has a 4500mAh battery and can charge at 67W via wire, 50W wirelessly, and 10W wirelessly in reverse.
On the camera system for the Xiaomi 13 series, Leica and Xiaomi have collaborated just like before. The base model comes with a Leica triple rear camera array that consists of a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX800 main sensor. A 32MP selfie camera is on the front.
As for the Xiaomi 13 Pro: The Xiaomi 13 Pro sports a 6.73-inch 2K OLED display with 3200×1440 resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR10+, and a maximum brightness of 1900 nits. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with Adreno GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and 512GB of non-expandable storage power the phone. The software is handled by the MIUI 14 custom skin, which is based on Android 13.
A 4,820mAh battery with 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities is included in the Xiaomi 13 Pro. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connection for charging and data syncing are among the connectivity capabilities. Hi-Res audio, an X-axis linear motor, an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, and a vapor chamber for heat dissipation are all included.
A 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens are all included in the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s Leica triple camera system. For selfies and video chats, the front camera has a 32MP sensor.
