Xiaomi unveiled its latest flagship device “Mi 11” in China. After weeks of rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is finally here and we have gathered all the info about the device. The Xiaomi Mi 11 price in Nigeria will be in the range of N300,000 – N350,000.
The latest Xiaomi Mi 11 features the latest Snapdragon 888 SoC chipset, 120Hz refresh rate, and other premium features.
With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, which was released earlier this month, the Mi 11 is the first smartphone to debut it. The Mi 11 is also reported to feature Xiaomi’s most advanced display, apart from the latest Snapdragon SoC. The display of the Mi 11 phone features curved edges on all four sides and comes with a 2K resolution (1440 x 3200 pixels) made of an E4 light-emitting material.
Let’s face it, Xiaomi flagship phones are not popular here in Nigeria and this is because Nigeria or per se West Africa is not its target region, however, Xiaomi budget and midrange phones are doing well here.
Meanwhile, the first thing that comes to the mind of most Nigerian phone consumers is that they think Xiaomi only offers Redmi phones. No, that’s no true. Redmi is a separate sub-brand of Xiaomi that focuses only on budget and mid-range phones whereas Xiaomi offers only high-end phones like the Mi series. Xiaomi is a major home electronics company in china that makes and invests in smartphones, laptops, home appliances, and so on. So don’t confuse the two.
Xiaomi is best known for making affordable flagships mainly aimed at consumers that are looking for premium features like a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, quality camera, 5G connectivity, high refresh rates, etc all for a cheaper price tag than the competition.
Now lets look at the complete specs and details.
Design & Display
If you are looking for an attractive phone in 2021 then Xiaomi Mi 11 is definitely one. The phone has a nice aluminum frame and a large, curved, silky, 120Hz screen on the front – what is here not to love? The glossy Gorilla Glass around the rear and Gorilla Glass Victus on the front, at least when it comes to its architecture and its screen, it is one of the best. Xiaomi has made great strides, and to date, the Mi series is her best-looking phone.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 features a nearly bezel-less screen and a Punch-hole cutout housing the selfie camera. The device comes with a 6.81-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, 515ppi pixel density, 1500 nits peak brightness, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and an ultra-high touch sampling rate of 480Hz. The Xiaomi Mi 11 display is rated for HDR10+ capabilities, which enables you to watch HDR videos on YouTube.
In addition, the display also provides the color gamut of DCI-P3 as well as support for Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation, heart rate detection via the Goodix in-display fingerprint sensor, and SGS Eye Care Display Certification.

An outstanding 108 MP (f/1.9) wide lens with 0.8µm pixels, PDAF, and OIS handle all the photography. This lens is supplemented by a 13 MP (f/2.4) ultra-wide lens with 123˚ FoV and a 5MP (f/2.4) macro lens for close-up images. As for the selfies, we have a 20 MP, 27mm wide lens that is embedded within the tiny punch-hole.
The primary lens is advertised to be 3.7 times larger than what is found on the iPhone 12 and is said to be twice the primary lens of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Furthermore, the rare cameras can record videos up to [email protected]/30fps and supports Gyro-EIS.
The Mi 11 comes with a chipset that will please avid gamers and power users who want to push their devices up to extreme levels. The chipset is Snapdragon 888 (5nm) and it is coupled with Adreno 660 GPU.
When compared to last year’s Snapdragon 865, the Snapdragon 888 SoC is claimed to provide 25 percent greater processing power and 25 percent faster graphics rendering.
The Snapdragon 888 SoC comes with a third-generation Snapdragon X60 5G modem to provide improved 5G coverage across global networks. The Snapdragon 888 SoC is also fitted with a Qualcomm Spectra 580 which offers more capable of capturing images and videos. For more technical details visit HERE
When it comes to storage, the phone packs 8GB RAM with 128 or 256 GB internal storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. There is no slot for sd card, so the internal storage can’t be expanded.
Since the Mi 11 has a huge screen with a 120Hz display, it definitely requires a huge battery. The device is equipped with a huge 4600mAh battery which Xiaomi claims to last for at least one day. Similarly, the device comes with the latest MIUI 12.5 user interface that runs on the Android 11 operating system.
Xiaomi seems to have ditched the in-box charger in the standard variant, whereas a separate 55W charger will be included in the bundle variants.

With a strong processor, fantastic design, and one of the best camera quality, the Xiaomi Mi 11 does almost everything right. If you are looking for an affordable flagship device, you should probably consider the Mi 11 because it is similar to Samsung Galaxy S20+ with a lower price tag.
In order to justify the CYN3,999 asking price, Xiaomi must guarantee consumers that there is enough premium quality to offer. And indeed, while the 108MP camera is fantastic that sets the phone apart, it’s not enough to sell the phone here on its own. The device also provides the latest hardware you can find today, a silky 120Hz screen, excellent battery life with support for 55W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, and an attractive design.
Should you buy it?
If You are looking for a sleek design with the latest hardware, an awesome camera, outstanding stereo speakers, a 120Hz AMOLED display and fast wired and wireless charging then go for the Mi 11.
