YouTube Music’s Android and iOS library interface has been revamped to provide quick access to playlists, songs, albums, and other features. The Recent activity tab as well as the category list have both been deleted from the updated UI. Users can now easily access key parts of the app’s interface in one of its most significant improvements in years.
9to5Google has released a report stating that the newly redesigned user interface for the YouTube Music Library is currently being rolled out on both the Android and iOS versions of the app with a few minor changes.
It entirely revamps the user interface by getting rid of the Recent activity carousel and the category list in favor of a more streamlined design that provides you with instant access to playlists, songs, albums, and other content types. Based on the screenshots obtained from 9to5Google, the Library tab now features a pull-down option at the very top that enables you to quickly go between one of four different views: Library, Downloads, Uploads, or Device files. This menu can also be accessed by double-tapping the Library tab option located in the bottom bar of the screen.
Users have the option of applying a filter to their search for material by clicking on individual chips that correspond to Playlists, Songs, Albums, and Artists. According to the source, when any of the first three options are tapped, a brand new Downloaded filter will be presented to the user, and Artists will be displayed along with the option to subscribe.
A drop-down menu underneath the filter chips allows you to sort Library tab results by Recent activity, Recently Added, Recently played, and alphabetically. Last but not least, you can create a new playlist by clicking the tab’s default floating action button (FAB). When you use a filter chip, it will automatically change to “Shuffle all”
After forcibly stopping the application on Android (version 5.38) and iOS (version 5.39), the YouTube Music library tab makeover should supposedly become available. However, it appears that the deployment will occur in stages, as it is not yet accessible on any of our devices at this time, as per 9to5Google.
It was claimed that YouTube Music started testing a new feature at the beginning of this month that would allow users to build their own personalized radio stations. It is anticipated that the ‘Create a Radio’ feature would eventually become available to users in a stable version at some point in the future. In a manner analogous to that of the initial configuration of YouTube Music, the app will present users with a number of different artists from which they can choose. Users will have the ability to lock their “Song Selection” by choosing from one of the three available options, which are Familiar, Blend, or Discover. After that, consumers will be needed to select a number of filters, such as Popular, Deep cuts, New releases, Pump-up, Chill, Upbeat, Downbeat, and Focus. When you are done, the individualized playlist for the YouTube Music radio station will be available for you to enjoy.
